Writer's Salon Featuring Author Roy Ziegler
Historian shares insights into early New Hope life
The Friends of the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury will host author Roy Ziegler for a Writer's Salon on Monday, May 11, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Free Library of New Hope & Solebury, 93 W. Ferry Street.
Ziegler will discuss his latest book, The Mysterious Mr. Maris: The Life and Times of William Maris (1776–1855), which explores the remarkable life of an early New Hope merchant who rose to become a builder, bank president, and operator of four local mills producing flour, cotton, wool, and flax linen.
Tickets are $20 and include a copy of the book, the author talk and discussion, and refreshments. Proceeds support programs funded by the Friends of the Free Library of New Hope and Solebury. Tickets may be purchased at www.friendsflnhs.org or at the door.
