Woman Faces Charges After Breaking Into Tyler Park Boarding House

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A 40-year-old woman from Philadelphia is facing charges after breaking into a boarding house at Tyler State Park and proceeding to make herself at home.

When the Pennsylvania State Police at Trevose arrived at the park, they found the woman standing in the nude in a grassy area in front of the house.

Police said after the woman entered the boarding house through an unlocked front door, she undressed, walked upstairs, entered a bathroom, and used toiletry items belonging to park trainees.

Police said the woman then entered several rooms, rummaged through personal property, and took long black athletic socks and black-and-white Adidas Slides.

The woman returned to the first floor where she prepared and ate several grocery food items, police said.

The stolen property and food items belonged to unidentified victims living at the residence and had a combined value of about $40, police said.

The woman was found standing in the nude in a grassy area in front of the building. She was taken into custody without incident and charged with criminal trespass and related offenses.

The woman was transported to the Trevose Barracks where she was processed. Following a preliminary hearing, she was transported to the Bucks County Prison.

The investigation remains open pending court action.
