Flag Raising Ceremony To Mark Sept. 11th In Northampton

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — National Maintenance & Build Out Company will host a special flag-raising ceremony on Friday commemorating the lives lost on September 11, 2001 and honoring the first responders and local heroes who serve Northampton Township.

The public ceremony will also mark NMBOC's 25th anniversary and the dedication of the company's new flagpole.

The Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230 will participate in the ceremony by presenting the Colors. Peter Palestina of the Detachment will help lead the ceremony alongside NMBOC President John Folz.

Local police, fire, and EMS personnel will also attend as NMBOC and the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230 recognize the community's first responders and local heroes.

Guests are invited to arrive at 9:15 a.m. for coffee, bagels, and light refreshments.

The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will include the presentation of the Colors by the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230; welcome and opening remarks by John Folz, President of NMBOC; the National Anthem performed by Lisa Garner; flag-raising ceremony; Pledge of Allegiance; a Moment of Remembrance honoring the victims of 9/11 and first responders; "God Bless America" performed by Lisa Garner; and closing remarks by John Folz.

The ceremony is intended to bring the community together in remembrance while recognizing the individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting others.

"September 11 is a day we must never forget," said Peter Palestina of the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230. "It is important that we continue to honor those we lost and recognize the first responders, veterans and local heroes who continue to serve our communities."

The new flagpole will provide a permanent place at NMBOC to honor the American flag and recognize the individuals who have served and sacrificed for the country and community.

The event is open to members of the community who wish to join NMBOC and the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230 in remembering September 11 and honoring those who serve.
