Road Dedication To Honor Missing In Action Richboro Soldier

RICHBORO, PA — A portion of Second Street Pike in Northampton Township will be dedicated Friday morning in honor of a Richboro native who went missing in action during the Vietnam War.

State and local officials will gather on National POW/MIA Recognition Day to dedicate a portion of the street in honor of Capt. Walter H. Sigafoos III, a Richboro native, 1964 Council Rock graduate, and U.S. Air Force officer who went missing in action during the Vietnam War.

Capt. Sigafoos disappeared on April 25, 1971, after the F-4 Phantom he was serving aboard crashed in Laos near the Ho Chi Minh Trail. He remains the only Bucks County service member still listed as missing in action from the Vietnam War.

State Rep. Kristin Marcell is hosting the event, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. in front of Addisville Church, 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro.

During the ceremony, officials will recognize Captain Sigafoos' military service, his sacrifice, and the continuing loss felt by his family and friends.

The public is asked to follow parking and traffic directions at the church. Attendees should use the designated event parking area behind the church and enter and exit from Township Road only.
