$1.8M Stolen From Brinks Truck In Philly: Reports

Two armed men used rifles to hold up the Brinks truck in the city's Tacony section on Tuesday morning, reports said.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Armed robbers stole $1.8 million from a Brinks truck in the city's Tacony section on Tuesday morning, according to multiple reports.

According to Philadelphia Police, two men armed with assault rifles robbed the Brinks truck around 9:45 a.m. in the 7200 block of Torresdale Avenue, and fled in a blue getaway car, Action News 6 reported.

.The FBI's Philadelphia office is leading the investigation.

A spokesperson for the FBI told Patch on Tuesday that it had responded to the scene.

Later Tuesday morning, police located an Acura that investigators believe was used in the robbery, according to police sources.

The vehicle was found under Interstate 95 in the area of Front Street and Fairmount Avenue, CBS News 10 reported.
