Rittenhouse Square, operated and maintained by the non-profit Friends of Rittenhouse Square, is one of five original squares planned by city founder William Penn in the late 17th century. Museum of the American Revolution

Inspired by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.amrevmuseum.org/exhibits/the-declaration-s-journey" rel="nofollow noopener">The Declaration’s Journey</a>, presented by Griffin Catalyst, join the Museum of the American Revolution and guest experts from The Philadelphia Museum of Art and Historical Society of Pennsylvania for a world’s fair night to celebrate 250 years of city-wide imagination and innovation to preserve landmarks, create art, and build attractions that welcome the world to Philadelphia. This special evening program and reception is themed to Philadelphia’s history of hosting national and global events that, among impacting tourism, traffic, and architecture, have fostered a sense of public curiosity for independence movements around the world since 1776.
This lively after-hours event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-program themed reception with food specials and select Museum access, with a 6 p.m. “toast to the Spirit of ’76!”&nbsp; by historian Dr. Stephen E. Nepa of Pennsylvania State University. Guests will also be invited to meet partners from local historic sites and archives, some of which were open for the 1876 Centennial Exposition and continue to interpret that event's complex history, from fairground architecture to food history, today.&nbsp;
Hosted by Museum staff, Philadelphia Museum of Art’s David Barquist and Colin Fanning will join Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s Justina Barrett and Selena Austin for a roundtable conversation illustrating how the artists and architects, individuals and institutions collaborated in both 1776 and 1876 to build the city’s reputation as a revolutionary center worth re-visiting in 2026.

Step into history and hear music tell a complex tale of power, adaptation, and survival. Eagle &amp; Empire brings to life rich and rarely heard repertoire born from the meeting of Indigenous and European traditions. Acclaimed vocalists Nell Snaidas, Estelí Gomez, Cecilia Duarte, Jonatan Alvarado, and Andrew Padgett join the virtuosic period instrumentalists of Piffaro, the Renaissance Band in an evening of Aztec dance and traditional Indigenous cuisine, courtesy of Ollin Yoliztli Calmecac, Philadelphia’s trailblazing Aztec dance troupe and cultural preservationists. 
Part of VOCES: EAC’s VOCES series spotlights a different facet of Latin American culture and traditions each season. This year’s VOCES Series will feature indigenous cultural traditions from Latin America and the Caribbean. 
This program is presented in partnership with Piffaro and was made possible through the generous support of William Penn Foundation, with additional support from the Presser Foundation, and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

Singer-songwriter Avery Lynch is here to get you through your breakup. Frequently described as a happy girl filled with sad songs, Avery puts storytelling first, drawing inspiration from observing the people around her, the media she consumes, and, of course, her own life. She starts each of her songs alone with her piano, eventually working with her close knit team to bring her work to life. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Avery fell in love with music playing piano at seven years old. Since then, she has created a sound around her soft vocals and raw piano ballads focusing on building community through her storytelling and lyricism.
