There's always something fresh to discover at Merrick's Tavern. Throughout the month of August, our Harvest Series will offer a new $44 three-course prix fixe menu every week, with each weekly menu highlighting a fresh-take on a tomato-infused offering curated by one of the Merrick's chefs and sourced through Urban Roots Farm in Newtown Square.
The series kicks off with Executive Chef Michael Davies’ menu of savory tomato custard, handmade crab &amp; ricotta agnolotti with Sungold tomato sugo, and tomato granita with vanilla ice cream.
Complete the experience with a Tomato &amp; Tonic, available as a mocktail for $8 or with vodka for $16.

Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts

This one-day workshop introduces the fundamentals of color temperature and its role in creating depth, light, and mood in a painting. Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises, participants will explore the relationships between warm and cool colors and how temperature shifts can be used to model form, suggest atmosphere, and unify a composition. Working from simple references, students will practice mixing and applying color with intention. This workshop is suitable for all levels and emphasizes both observation and experimentation.

Fully restored from 2018-2025 and features rooms decorated in different styles spanning the Rococo Revival to the Aesthetic Movement to the Edwardian period, the Museum was awarded the Victorian Society in America Award for the exemplary restoration and rehabilitation. This landmark preserves the legacy of the Grundy family and offers visitors a unique glimpse into life during the Victorian Era. The Museum’s extensive collection is highly unusual for a historic house museum as almost all the items belonged to the Grundy family. The museum serves as a cultural destination for those interested in antiques, local history, and architecture. Docents take visitors through the meticulously restored rooms, showcasing the elaborate furnishings and sharing stories of the Grundy family’s contributions to Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania, and national affairs.
