The diner will replace a long-vacant space on the active commercial corridor.

PHILADELPHIA — A new diner will replace a long-vacant storefront on Philadelphia's City Avenue.
City Diner is coming to the City Ave District — the commercial corridor by Philadelphia's western border with the Main Line.
The "classic family diner" will be located at 5052 City Ave., according to City Ave District's Facebook page.

Most recently home to a furniture store, the spot has been vacant for years.
"We’re excited to see this location come back to life and become a go-to spot for the community," the announcement said.

Construction will begin soon, with a tentative early fall opening.
