Restaurant Suffers Fire, Temporarily Closing In South Philly
There is no timetable to reopen as damage assessment continues.
PHILADELPHIA — A South Philadelphia restaurant is temporarily closed after suffering a fire Wednesday night.
The fire broke out at Ember & Ash, an East Passyunk Avenue restaurant that specializes in seasonal fare cooked over an open hearth.
No one was hurt. But there is no timetable for reopening as the damage is assessed, according to owners Scott and Lulu Calhoun.

"The good news is that everyone is safe," they said on the restaurant's Instagram page. "We’re so grateful for the quick response from the fire department and everyone who helped protect our team and our building."
Ember & Ash is located at 1520 E Passyunk Ave.
