Lane Restrictions Coming For Heavily Traveled Pittsburgh Bridge
Prepare for significant traffic tie-ups on a major Pittsburgh span.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Single-lane weekend closures are coming to a heavily traveled Pittsburgh bridge.
The Allegheny County Department of Public Works announced Thursday that the closures will occur on the Homestead Grays Bridge in Pittsburgh and Homestead from 9 p.m. on Fridays to 6 a.m. Monday from Oct. 2 to Nov. 16.
The traffic restrictions are necessary for bridge span, pier, and deck repairs.

The Homestead Grays Bridge is used daily by more than 40,000 motorists. Drivers should expect traffic delays in the area and are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their destinations.
Pugliano Construction of Plum is the primary construction contractor for the $902,594 project.

The Homestead Grays Bridge has a bridge condition rating of 5 (fair condition) on a 0-9 scale based on National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) established by the Federal Highway Administration.
