PA's Richest Person Is Worth $77.8 Billion, Ranks 18th Nationally On Forbes List

PENNSYLVANIA — With a net worth of $908 billion, Elon Musk again tops the Forbes 400, a ranking of the nation’s wealthiest billionaires that includes Jeff Yass, the richest person in Pennsylvania.

Forbes said Musk’s place at the top of its 45th annual Forbes 400 ranking shows “the wealth gap is widening, even among the ultra-rich.” Those on the ranking, released Tuesday, are worth a record $8 trillion, up from $6.6 trillion a year ago. Together, the 20 richest billionaires account for $4 trillion of the total, up from $970 billion from last year.

“Elon Musk’s trillionaire moment was short-lived, but the wealth controlled by the top 20 is massive,” Forbes said.

Billionaires on the list from Pennsylvania are:

• Jeff Yass, 68, a cofounder of Susquehanna International Group, one of Wall Street's largest and most successful trading firms. His net worth: $77.8 billion. National ranking: 18.

• Arthur Danchik, 68, another Susquehanna International Group founder. His net worth: $19.5 billion. National ranking: 59.

• Victoria Mars, 69. She and her three sisters are heirs to the family's giant candy and pet food company, Mars, Incorporated. Her net worth: $12.6 billion. National ranking: 103.

• Michael Rubin, 54, the founder and CEO of Fanatics, the online sports merchandising retailer that also offers trading cards, autographed collectibles, live events and sports betting. His net worth: $11.6 billion. National ranking: 124.

• Jeff Laurie, 75, the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles. His net worth: $8.8 billion. National ranking: 187.

• Mitchell Morgan, 72, the founder, chairman and owner of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based Morgan Properties, the second-largest owner of apartments in the U.S. His net worth: $6.7 billion. National ranking: 256.

• Thomas Tull, 56, a former film financier and founder of production company Legendary Entertainment. His biggest hits came from backing blockbusters. Tull's net worth: $5.6 billion. National ranking: 306.
• Thomas Hagen and his family. Hagen, 90, is the chairman emeritus of Erie Indemnity who has been a part of the company for more than 50 years, including three years as CEO from 1990 to 1993. His net worth: $5.2 billion. National ranking: 325.

• John Middleton, 71, who made his fortune selling his family's storied tobacco business to Philip Morris' parent, Altria, in 2007 for $2.9 billion in cash. His net worth: $4.9 billion. National ranking 353.

• Edward Stack and his family. Stack, 71, is the executive chairman and largest individual shareholder of Dick's Sporting Goods. His net worth: $4.5 billion. National ranking: 380.

Even with the list threshold rising to a record $4.4 billion — up from $3.8 billion in 2025 — strong financial growth allowed 34 newcomers to join it. Notably, a record 590 U.S. billionaires were “too poor to make the cut,” Forbes said.

Many of the 34 newcomers made their fortunes in artificial intelligence, including Cognition AI cofounder Steven Hao, six Anthropic cofounders and OpenAI cofounder Greg Brockman.

The AI sector has come under intense scrutiny in Congress this week as high-profile tech leaders push for federal safety regulations and a reduced pace of innovation. These warnings follow mounting concerns about existential risks posed by advanced AI systems, echoed in an essay by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and supported by xAI's Musk and OpenAI's Sam Altman.

The list includes 62 women, including 13 who are self-made. Alice Walton remains the richest American woman, while ABC Supply cofounder Diane Hendricks is the richest self-made woman.

Ten listees are younger than 40, up from four in 2025. The oldest is 97-year-old timber billionaire Archie Aldis Emmerson, and the average age is 70.
