Pittsburgh Facing Major Public Transit Disruption
Pittsburgh Regional Transit is working on a problem that has shut down a major component of its overall system. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Most T service in Pittsburgh is inoperable at the moment, Pittsburgh Regional Transit officials said early Wednesday.
According to a social media post, an overhead power line came down overnight, requiring crews to shut down the power to the majority of the rail system. No trains currently are able to leave the rail yard.
Only one rail car currently has available. It will run via the Red Line from Mt. Lebanon to Allegheny Station.

At the moment, the agency has only two buses available to accommodate T riders. One will run from Library Station to Washington Station, while the other will run from Washington Junction to South Hills Junction. From there, riders can take any inbound bus to Downtown.
"We are working to get additional shuttles while crews work on the overhead," PRT stated on X. "With temperatures near zero, we suggest not using the rail system unless you absolutely have to until this issue is resolved."
