A Pittsburgh TV station has picked up a new investigative reporter. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Moving from Orlando to Pittsburgh seems like an odd thing. But it's one that a veteran TV reporter is about to make.

Nick Papantonis will join WPXI-TV after leaving Cox Media sister station WFTV in Orlando on June 12. PBRTV first reported the news locally after Papantonis announced it on social media.

"This decision has nothing to do with WFTV or Central Florida," he stated in a post.

"My wife was offered a tremendous career opportunity in Pittsburgh and while leaving was a difficult choice, it's the right one for our family.I’m deeply grateful to Channel 9, my colleagues and our viewers for an incredible five years here in Central Florida.

"We have a sister station in Pittsburgh, WPXI, with an equally talented team, and I am excited to say that I will be joining their ranks as an investigative reporter after we get settled. That means you will still get to see me from time to time on Channel 9 and I’ll be collaborating with the team down here.

It's unclear when Papantonis will officially start at WPXI.
