Sarris Candies Opens Ice Cream Shop In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — Washington County-based Sarris Candies is stepping inside Pittsburgh city limits with the Thursday opening of the Sarris Scoop Shop.

Located inside the Giant Eagle Market District store on Penn Avenue in the city's East End, the new Scoop Shop will offer a variety of Sarris ice cream favorites including cones, sundaes, milkshakes and other grab and go items. Designed as a convenient quick-service stop, the location gives customers the option to enjoy their order while they shop or from the nearby seating area.

This new location expands the Sarris ice cream experience beyond the company’s longtime ice cream parlor in Canonsburg.

“We’ve been serving generations of families in Western Pennsylvania and beyond for more than 65 years, and we’re always looking for new ways to meet our customers where they are,” said Sarris Candies President Bill Sarris. “Opening inside Market District gives us a great opportunity to do exactly that while introducing even more people to our ice cream.”

Market District spokesman Dan Donovan said this:“We’re thrilled to expand our longtime partnership with Sarris Candies to now feature a Sarris Scoop Shop inside of our Penn Avenue Market District location.”

The Sarris Scoop Shop will be open daily from 8 a.m-8 p.m.

Founded in Canonsburg in 1960, the family-owned Sarris Candies has grown from a small candy business into a regional brand known for handcrafted chocolates, seasonal favorites, ice cream and more.
