Tornado Risk Arriving For Pittsburgh Area: What To Know

PITTSBURGH, PA — An end to the unusually warm temperatures in the Pittsburgh metro area is coming, and with it will come the risk of severe storms.
According to the National Weather Service, a strong cold front will approach and cross the region on Wednesday. Damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes are possible.
Temperatures today and Wednesday are expected to reach the mid 70s, but much colder air will move into the region with the passage of the cold front.

The weather service warns that snow could be possible in portions of Western Pennsylvania on Thursday, although high temperatures in the Pittsburgh area are expected to reach the low 40s.
Expect roller coaster temperatures for the rest of the week, with highs ranging from the 40s to near 70 on Sunday - and back to near 40 on Monday.
