2 Firefighters Injured In Whitemarsh Fire, Residents Evacuated
Officials said their injuries are minor.
WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, PA — Two firefighters were injured and two residents were evacuated from their home after a fire in Whitemarsh Township over the weekend.
The injuries to firefighters were described as minor, Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company said.
The incident occurred at around 1:08 a.m. on Sunday on the 3000 block of Chestnut street.

The origin and cause of the blaze are not yet known and remain under investigation.
Fire was emerging from the roof of the three-story home when first responders arrived.

Once the two adult residents were evacuated, the crew ran a handline to the third floor, and found the fire in hte attic.
Additional lines were stretched and the fire was ultimately brought under control by about 2 a.m.
Crews remained on scene until about 4 a.m.
The Whitemarsh Township Fire Marshal's Office is continuing to investigate.
