Vehicle Goes Up In Flames On Ridge Pike Tuesday

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — A vehicle went up in flames on Ridge Pike Tuesday afternoon, leading to a temporary road closure and traffic throughout the area.

The incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. near Alan Wood Road.

An SUV caught fire, with flames originating from under the hood, authorities said.

Large plumes of gray and black smoke rose into the air over the area into the mid-afternoon.

Crews quickly extinguished the blaze and brought the scene under control in less than 10 minutes.

Roadways remained impacted for some time as crews cleared debris and wetted down the vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
