Pottstown Awarded $632,000 To Improve Intersections, Traffic Lights

POTTSTOWN, PA — The borough of Pottstown has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to improve traffic signals at intersections around town.

The $632,000 in funding comes from the state's "Green Light-Go” program that aims to improve safety and reduce congestion on key roadways across the state.

“This funding will make Pottstown a safer, more connected place,” State Rep. Joe Ciresi said in a statement. “Modernized traffic signals and improved pedestrian accessibility will increase safety and improve mobility to create a more welcoming community for those who live and work here while supporting the borough’s continued economic growth.”

Specifically, the funds will go towards the replacement of pedestrian signals throughout the borough, as well as modernized traffic signals at Route 100 and King Street, and Route 100 and Shoemaker Road.
