Harlem Wizards Bringing Basketball Fun To Radnor For A Good Cause
The Radnor Educational Foundation is inviting community members from the region to enjoy some b-ball hijinks while supporting their mission.
RADNOR, PA — The Harlem Wizards are coming back to Radnor Township for another fundraiser basketball game where they will take on Radnor Township School District teachers.
The Radnor Educational Foundation is hosting the game at 7 p.m. on March 16 in Radnor High School's gymnasium.
"We're expecting a big turnout," Erin Dunkel, executive director of the Radnor Educational Foundation, told Patch. She said about 500 people are on tap to watch the basketball fun.

Seating in all sections is available on a first come, first served basis.
Attendees will be treated to a night of dunks, tricks, and comedy, all while raising funds to support educational initiatives within the Radnor Township School District.
The Harlem Wizards are celebrated for their unique brand of "Trick Hoops & Alley Oops," blending basketball skills with audience interaction.
Unlike a traditional basketball game, the Wizards deliver a truly interactive experience, making them "the most interactive basketball show in the world."
Attendees can expect to be part of the action, with opportunities for player autographs, random selections for halftime show participation, and Wizards routines performed right in the crowd. The evening will culminate in an end-of-game dance celebration.
Dunkel said the Radnor Educational Foundation began partnering with the Wizards about 10 years ago for its main fundraiser, but then transitioned to the Radnor Educational Foundation gala.
That event, however, was not as student-focused as the Wizards games, as they are more accessible.
"Felt like this kind of event was more student-centric and family-focused," she said. "I love that it brings the focus back on the families."
One thing about the game is that it's not specific to district residents; residents in any neighboring district can come together for the evening of fun. Dunkel said the game crowd typically includes non Radnor Township School District residents who are looking to enjoy a family friendly, funny, and interactive display of athleticism from the Wizards.
"It's great timing in that it's during basketball season," she said. "People will have cabin fever and want to get out for a night, too."
The REF will also be running a silent auction throughout the night, with bids being placed online and closing at the game's conclusion. Auction items will include prizes like lunch with a principal or riding to school in a Radnor Township Police vehicle. Winners will be announced later.
Additionally, the foundation will present the Anne Peters Volunteer Award to a local resident who has been a shining example of community action.
"When do these people sleep," Dunkel asked jokingly of all the dedicated local volunteers nominated for the award.
Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are also available. See details online here or email info@radnoreducationalfoundation.org for more details.
"This event is not just about incredible basketball; it's about investing in our students and schools," Dunkel said. "We encourage the community to join us, volunteer, or consider a sponsorship to make this fundraiser a huge success and directly benefit the educational experience for Radnor students."
The Radnor Educational Foundation is seeking volunteers for game day and potentially the days leading up to it.
