Conestoga Crew Invites Students to Learn to Row This Summer Following Another Nationally Successful Season

TREDYFFRIN, PA — After one of the most successful seasons in program history, Conestoga Crew is inviting local middle and high school students to discover the sport of rowing through its 2026 Summer Learn to Row program.

Open to students with no prior rowing experience, the program offers participants the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of rowing on Philadelphia's historic Boathouse Row under the guidance of Conestoga Crew coaches and experienced athletes.

The invitation comes after a spring season that saw Conestoga establish itself among the nation's top scholastic rowing programs. This year, the club earned medals at the Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships, qualified multiple boats for national championship competition, and placed both its boys and girls varsity quads on the podium at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championships. Conestoga also advanced six boats into championship finals at SRAAs, finishing among the top programs in the country.

The success of the program extends beyond race results. Recent Conestoga graduates have continued their rowing careers at colleges and universities including Boston University, Colgate University, Drexel University, Georgetown University, Trinity College, the University of Delaware, and the University of Pennsylvania, demonstrating the opportunities that rowing can create both athletically and academically.

"Crew gave me discipline, lifelong friends, and opened doors to college," said a member of Conestoga's Class of 2026.

The Summer Learn to Row program is designed specifically for beginners and introduces participants to rowing technique, water safety, teamwork, and the basics of racing in a fun and supportive environment. Students will have the opportunity to learn both on rowing machines and on the water while experiencing the unique teamwork that makes rowing one of the fastest-growing high school sports in the country.

Participants will learn on the Schuylkill River from Conestoga Crew's home on historic Boathouse Row in Philadelphia.
