Conestoga Crew Posts Top-Tier Manny Flick Results; Girls Win Godwin Trophy, Boys Take 2nd

TREDYFFRIN — Conestoga Crew put together a standout spring season, emerging as one of the more consistent programs in the Philadelphia region.

Leading the way were the Conestoga girls, who earned the 2026 Kate Godwin Trophy, awarded to the top overall program in girls’ sculling across the Manny Flick series. Competing against 35 teams, Conestoga finished nearly 100 points ahead of the next closest program. The result reflects steady performances throughout the lineup, with boats regularly placing near the top in singles, doubles, and quads across all four Flicks.

“The girls have had a really strong start to the spring season, and it has shown with winning the points trophy for the first time since 2023,” said girls coach Austin Burke. “From Novice to Varsity, all 21 rowers contributed to earning this award through the weekly results at the Flicks. It really showcases the depth and talent with this current roster when week after week the girls put together top 3 results in so many events. A much-earned award for us and we will look to continue building on the strong results entering medal season.”

On the boys’ side, Conestoga also delivered a strong showing. The team finished 2nd overall in the Horvat Series standings out of 37 programs. Notably, Conestoga was the highest-ranked public school in the field, competing against the region’s top sculling programs. The boys scored consistently across multiple boat classes and remained in contention throughout the series.

“Securing second place again this year is a testament to the talent and depth of this team,” said boys coach Bailey Chick. “The example and standards set by the upperclassmen on this team is invaluable, and the work done by every athlete has set us on a really strong footing for Cities and the remainder of the season.”

Looking Ahead to City Championships

With the regular season complete, attention now turns to the PSRA City Championships, scheduled for May 2–3 on the Schuylkill River.

The girls will enter the weekend having already secured the Godwin Trophy, while the boys look to build on their strong regular-season performance. City Championships present a different challenge, with tighter racing and a deeper field across all events.

Based on their results this spring, Conestoga heads into the weekend with solid depth, competitive speed, and momentum across both programs.

For the girls, the focus will be on continuing their consistency across multiple entries. For the boys, it’s an opportunity to build on their standing and compete closely with the top crews in the region.
