2025 Primary Election Turnout Reached Near High In Bucks Co.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — One year after setting the second-highest record for turnout at primary elections in two decades, voters will return to the polls on Tuesday.

The Bucks County Board of Elections reported that 25.8 percent of the county's 395,246 registered voters cast 101,926 ballots for school board and municipal races, with 100 percent of the 306 precincts fully reporting unofficial results.

That turnout in last year's primary election was the second-highest reported by the Bucks County Board of Elections in more than 20 years, according to voter statistics.

In May 2021, the county turnout in the municipal primary election was 25.98 percent.

The county separates primaries into two categories: municipal (when there are only local races) and general (when state and congress representatives are running for election).

Over the years, primary election turnout has been recorded as low as 13.24 percent in 2006.

This year's primary election is for state representatives and congressional members.
