Are Winter Storm Reports In Philly Region Real Or Hype? {Patch Poll]

A Patch poll is asking readers how much snow they believe will hit the region from the winter storm expected this weekend.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The storm is coming, and communities in the Philadelphia region are bracing for it.

Throughout the region, communities are issuing snow emergencies, cancelling events, and gearing up for a storm in which reports are saying that accumulations could top over 12 inches and maybe even go beyond 20 inches of snow.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the entire Philadelphia region starting Saturday night and going through Monday afternoon.

Forecasters say they currently expect 10 inches of snow on the low end, but there is a possibility for some parts of the Philadelphia area to get 24 inches or more.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J., said in a Thursday morning briefing they are now confident that the region has up to a 90 percent chance of seeing "major" impacts from this weather event.

While the region has witnessed several storms already this winter, this weekend storm may be one to really remember.
