Memorial Services Honor Fallen Lower Bucks Co. Police Officers
Ceremonies took place in Bensalem and Bristol Township to remember police officers killed in the line of duty.
LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Two ceremonies took place on Monday morning to pay tribute to police officers who gave their lives in the line of duty in Lower Bucks County.
Bucks County lawmakers turned out for services in Bristol and Bensalem townships in solemn services to honor the fallen police officers.
State Sen. Steve Santarsiero attended a ceremony in Bristol Township, which ended with the laying of a wreath on the memorial to Bristol Township Police Detective Sergeant George Francis Stuckey.

Stuckey gave his life in 1972, helping to apprehend five men who had committed a bank robbery in Levittown.
"Our police officers are heroes and put their lives on the line to protect our communities," Santarsiero said.

State Rep. Kathleen "KC" Tomlinson attended the Bensalem Police Memorial in honor of the township's two fallen police officers.
"Continued prayers to the Armstrong and Yezzi families," Tomlinson said. "And many thanks to the men and women who continue to protect us every day."
On April 15, 1975, Armstrong was shot and killed as he investigated an armed robbery. His K-9 partner, Shep, was also shot that day but he survived.
On Aug. 12, 1980, Yezzi was struck and killed by a motor vehicle while investigating a suspicious pedestrian. The individual pulled a knife at which time Yezzi backed into traffic and was struck and killed by a motor vehicle.
