Warminster Food Bank Receives 1,700 Pounds Of Food
The Warminster Food Bank's donations are much needed during a summer with no school and fewer dropoffs.

WARMINSTER TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warminster Food Bank recently collected 1,700 pounds of food following two events.
Earlier this month, the food bank held a food collection drive at its County Line Road headquarters in which dozens of people donated over 700 pounds of nonperishable food items and $700 in cash and gift cards.
The items collected will help to provide monthly groceries and supplies for local families in need.

The donations were even more important since donations drop off during the summer months, and schools are closed for the summer, meaning the end of school lunches for students.
“Sadly, people experience food insecurity at all times of the year,” said Mike Cerino, Director, Warminster Food Bank. “We are grateful for the support of those in the community who came out to help their neighbors in need. Their generosity is helping to ease the burden for those we serve.”

Meanwhile, the food bank also received donations of 1,019 pounds of food from the Chapman Ford dealership in Horsham.
The donation was a part of the Ford Motor Company’s “Summer of Community Impact” initiative, done in honor of the country’s 250th anniversary.
“We are extremely grateful to Chapman Ford of Horsham, their employees, and their customers for this generous and thoughtful initiative,” Cerino said. "Food insecurity doesn’t take a vacation."
