After more than 11 years of community organizing, planning, fundraising and volunteer effort, the West Chester Cooperative will celebrate the grand opening of its community-owned grocery store at 204 W. Market Street with a community celebration beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Guests are invited to stop by to tour the store, meet the team, enjoy samples, take family photos with our mascot Moe the Carrot, and celebrate the opening with the community.
- 3:30 pm: Ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the store, followed by a community toast with remarks from Judy Carrino, Board President, and General Manager Issa Ostrander.
- 4-7 pm: Community celebration with vendor tastings, our mascot Moe the Carrot, store tours, and member-owner sign up opportunities.
Grand opening programming will also feature local guest vendors:
- Golden Valley Coffee — 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Baba's Brew — 2–4 p.m.
- Brandywine Soap — 3–6 p.m.
Guest vendors and tastings will be a regular part of the Co-op experience, giving shoppers opportunities to meet local farmers, makers and producers, and discover the people and products behind what they find on the shelves.
The Co-op is open to the public seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
