East Goshen Shooting That Left 1 Dead, Girl Injured Investigated As Suicide: DA
Authorities said the 9-year-old girl injured in the incident continues to recover in the hospital.
EAST GOSHEN, PA — Authorities are investigating last week's shooting in East Goshen Township which left one woman dead and a 9-year-old child injured as a suicide, the Chester County District Attorney's Office said.
The 9-year-old was struck was a bullet during the incident, and is continuing to recover from her injuries in the hospital, according to authorities.
"This was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the general public," the DA's office added. "The District Attorney’s Office and Westtown East Goshen Police again extend our deepest condolences to the family affected by this incident. We encourage everyone to give the family privacy in this difficult time."

The incident occurred at the 400 building of the Summit House Condos in East Goshen Township on Friday, Aug. 7, at around 11 a.m.
The girl was conscious and able to speak with officers when they arrived, the DA said. The woman was dead when they arrived.

Circumstances leading up to the incident are not yet clear and the investigation remains underway.
A gun was recovered from the scene, police said.
