Family Dog Killed Protecting Child During West Chester Dog Attack: Reports
The family dog was an emotional support animal for the child, reports state.
WEST CHESTER, PA — A family dog and emotional support animal was killed while defending a young girl in West Chester recently, according to media reports.
The incident occurred on Monday, July 13 on the 200 block of S. Matlack Street.
6ABC reports surveillance video showed a loose pit bull leaping up at a girl who was holding her dog in her arms.

The larger dog continues leaping and despite her moving away, according to 6ABC. Eventually the larger dog grabs the girl's dog and attacks, fatally injuring him.
The Brandywine Valley SPCA is investigating. No charges have yet been filed and the attacking dog has not been found.
