No Damages From NJ Earthquake In Yardley: Officials
Yardley residents were lighting up social media regarding the earthquake that rattled homes and buildings Friday morning.

YARDLEY, PA —An apparent earthquake rocked the East Coast Friday morning, authorities said.
A magnitude 4.7 earthquake was detected with an epicenter seven kilometers northeast of Whitehouse Station in New Jersey, according to the United States Geological Survey, which monitors earthquakes.

Pennsbury Schools Superintendent Thomas A. Smith said that there were no reports of damage to the schools and that operations are resuming as normal.
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department said there has been no injuries or damage reported in the township.

The police department will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional information as it becomes available.
"Wow!! Yes, we have experienced a magnitude 4.8 earthquake," Yardley Borough officials said. "While we have not received any reports of damage, if you smell gas or smell smoke, please exit your home or place of work and call 911."
Facebook pages for Yardley, Morrisville, and Lower Makefield Township lit up with people asking whether there was an earthquake and that there was a whole lot of shaking going on.
Reports of buildings shaking began about 10:30 a.m. and lasted for approximately 30 seconds. The shaking was felt as far as New York City, Philadelphia, and Massachusetts, according to reports.
