Lockdown Lifted At Pennsbury High School After Threat Deemed Not Credible

Officials said the threat was received by Falls Township police, who later locked down the campus.

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — Pennsbury High School in Bucks County was briefly placed on lockdown on Saturday morning after police received a notification from the FBI regarding an online threat of violence toward the high school.

The threat was initially reported to the Falls Township Police Department, and the campus was placed on lockdown around 10 a.m. The lockdown was lifted about 30 minutes later.

According to Pennsbury School District Superintendent Thomas Smith, police identified the person behind the threat and determined it wasn't credible. Officials said the person did not have access to weapons.

Smith said sports teams and community groups were practicing inside the school when the threat was received. Safety protocols were followed, Smith said, and the participants and their families were held safely within the building.

Once the lockdown was lifted, officials said police reopened the campus for activities.
