Safety Improvements Made At Key Lower Makefield Intersection

Lower Makefield officials said an ARLE grant was used for upgrades at a key township intersection.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The township has completed upgrades at a key township intersection.

Township officials said the Big Oak Road and Makefield Road intersection modernization and safety improvement project was completed using an automated red-light enforcement grant awarded by PennDOT.

The $260,000 ARLE grant — along with Lower Makefield Township funding of $147,950 — allowed for full signal modernization, including mast arms, signal heads, emergency preemption, video detection and pedestrian improvements.
