Snow Day Friday For Pennsbury Schools Due To Weather Warning
A winter storm warning begins at 4 a.m. Friday, as parts of the Philadelphia metro could get 4 to 6 inches of snow.

YARDLEY, PA —District officials canceled classes for Pennsbury Schools students and closed all offices Friday, due to an incoming snowstorm that could make travel conditions dangerous for staff and students.
Staff members were asked to see their emails for follow-up instruction.

As the district noted, "this is our last traditional snow day, so please enjoy it. All future snow days will be remote learning days with synchronous (live) instruction."
Forecasters issued a winter storm warning in Lower Bucks County beginning at 4 a.m. Friday and lasting until 10 p.m. Snowfall is scheduled to begin Friday morning and could bring 4 to 6 inches of accumulation.

"The initial forecast indicates snow falling during the morning commute and throughout the school day, making traveling during arrival and dismissal difficult," district officials said.
The National Weather Service advised people in the Philadelphia metro area to avoid driving on Friday, "as road conditions will deteriorate as the day progresses."
The metro area has not had a winter storm warning since Jan. 29, 2022, so it has been close to two years since there have been significant impacts from snow in the area.
