LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Stony Run Road is experiencing backups due to an ongoing issue with the system that controls the traffic signals on the Newtown Bypass, officials said.

Township officials said there is an "ongoing issue" with the adaptive system that controls the traffic signals on Route 332, leading to snarled traffic.

Officials said there recently was an issue with the fiber optic network that PennDOT has since repaired.

The issue, though, has not been resolved with the adaptive system on the Lindenhurst/Route 332 signal in Newtown Township.

The vendor who runs the adaptive system for PennDOT will monitor the system during the evening rush hour to determine what is going on, officials said.
