AG Blanche Apologizes To RI Judge Who Released Detainee Wanted On Murder Charge In DR
The Department of Homeland Security blasted the judge for releasing the detainee.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Acting U.S. Attorney Todd Blanche has apologized to federal Judge Melissa DuBose, who released a detainee wanted on a murder charge in the Dominican Republic.
DuBose was not aware Bryan Rafael Gonzalez was wanted on the murder charge before she released him from custody, according to a court filing submitted by Blanche, First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Rhode Island and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Bolan.
Immigration And Customs Enforcement had declared information on the warrant was not to be disclosed, according to the filing, despite ICE issuing an April 16 media release that said Gomez was wanted for homicide.

"In failing to disclose the information regarding (Gomez's) criminal history, I relied on ICE’s representation that I was not permitted to disclose that information and understood that a legitimate law enforcement reason prevented disclosure," the filing said.

“An activist judge appointed by Joe Biden released this wanted murderer back into American communities," Acting Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis said in the release.
"This is yet another example of an activist judge trying to thwart President Trump’s mandate from the American people to remove criminal illegal aliens from our communities," Bis said. "Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, DHS will continue to fight for the removal of criminal illegal aliens who have no right to be in our country.”
