"Hummingbird fans rejoice!" AccuWeather said in a social media post. "The ruby-throated hummingbirds are on their way back to the eastern US after spending the winter in Mexico and South America."

Some of the ruby-throated hummingbirds will be merely passing through Rhode Island on their way farther north as they migrate all the way to Canada.
