Providence Goalie Hope Walinski Named Army ROTC Defender Of The Week
Walinski recorded 65 saves en route to a weekend sweep over Vermont.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Providence College graduate student goaltender Hope Walinski was named Army ROTC Defender of the Week on Monday.
Walinski, who hails from Lincoln, finished a weekend sweep of the University of Vermont with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage.
She stopped 65 of 68 Vermont shots in the two games, including a 40-save performance in a 3-2 victory on Saturday, her second 40-plus save performance of the season.

The Saturday win was also Walinksi's 100th career game, putting her fifth all-time among Providence College goaltenders in games played.
Walinski has played in all the Friars' games this season. She has posted a 2.97 goals-against average, a .906 save percentage and a 9-17-2 record.
