Rhode Island City Worst In America When It Comes To Public Toilets: Study

A recent study determined a Rhode Island city was the worst in America when it comes to public toilets.

"Public bathrooms are essential to community health and accessibility, but when facilities are limited, people may resort to unsanitary practices that pose risks in shared spaces," according to a media release accompanying the results of the study conducted by British bathroom supply company QS Supplies.

"And while everyone needs access, these gaps are particularly challenging for vulnerable groups, including homeless individuals, people with disabilities, older adults, and pregnant women," the release said.

The researchers at QS Supplies calculated the number of bathrooms per 100,000 residents and determined Providence had the least in the entire country.

A new study found that Providence has an average of 2.6 public bathrooms per 100,000 people — the lowest density in the country.

On the other end of the spectrum with the most toilets per 100,000 residents was Salt Lake City, followed by Honolulu and Denver.
