Rhode Island Has 'Densest EV charging network' In America: Study

Rhode Island has the "densest EV charging network in the entire United States," a recent study revealed, but how did it stack up nationally overall?

The study conducted by Ladah Injury & Car Accident Lawyers Las Vegas showed Rhode Island ranking 24th despite placing in the top spot for density.

"Rhode Island combines the nation's densest EV charging network with moderate EV adoption, creating strong potential for future growth," according to a media release accompanying the results of the survey.

"The state has 1,018 charging ports serving 8,300 registered EVs, or 746 EVs per 100,000 residents," the release said. "This balance earns Rhode Island a Total Score of 92.17, ranking 24th nationally and highlighting its exceptional infrastructure readiness."

The top state overall was Mississippi, followed by West Virginia and Louisiana.

"The United States is in the midst of an electric vehicle revolution, but the opportunity is not equally distributed," the release said. "As automakers accelerate EV production and federal incentives drive consumer interest, a critical question has emerged: which states have the market conditions and infrastructure to absorb rapid EV growth, and which are already strained? Nowhere is the answer more striking than in Rhode Island."
