Rhode Island Most Superstitious State In America, Recent Study Reveals

Rhode Island is the most superstitious state in America, a recent study revealed.

The study, conducted by the researchers at online social and sweepstakes casino McLuck.com, analyzed the 10 most used good luck phrases in the United States, then assessed which states have been searching for them the most in the past five years.

Rhode Island took the top spot, followed by Wyoming, Alaska, California and New Jersey.

Rhode Island's "standout phrase" was "knock on wood," while Wyoming, Alaska and California's were "break a leg."

The standout phrase in New Jersey was "sending positive vibes."

The state whose residents were least concerned with luck was Indiana.

Alabama was the second least superstitious state, followed by South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.

While apparently not searched often, Indiana's standout phrase was "break a leg," as was Tennessee's.

The other three states in the bottom five were partial to "wish me luck."

The study was undertaken after the winner of a $1.04 billion Powerball jackpot stepped up to claim their prize earlier this month, according to a media release accompanying the study results.
