Rhode Island One Of The Worst States In America For Hybrid Work: Study

Rhode Island is one of the worst states in America when it comes to hybrid work, a recent study revealed.

Rhode Island was third from the bottom in the study conducted by the researchers at Wolfstone Digital, a British digital marketing agency specializing in search engine optimization and visibility in AI-generated search results.

"Hybrid work has become a popular way for employees to balance working from home with time in the office," according to the study.

"But the experience can vary depending on where workers live," per Wolfstone Digital. "Access to hybrid jobs, fast internet, affordable living costs, coworking spaces, taxes, and commute times can all affect how easy it is to work flexibly."

Rhode Island fell short when it came to those conditions, as the state "records one of the slowest internet speeds in the bottom five at 113.21 Mbps and has just 0.30 coworking spaces per 100,000 people," according to the study.

The only states worse than Rhode Island were West Virginia and last place Wisconsin.

The top state was New York, followed by Iowa and Illinois.

New York has the "highest share of positions with hybrid options in the top 10 at 13.11%," according to the study. "It also records an average internet speed of 175.38 Mbps. However, workers in the state face a higher average commute time of 33.2 minutes and an income tax rate of 10.90%."

Nearby Massachusetts placed fourth.

The Bay State has "7.69% of positions offering hybrid options and a cost of living index of 90.3," the study said. "It also records an average internet speed of 170.65 Mbps."
