Roger Williams Park Zoo Closed Sunday Due To Freezing Cold
Sunday was planned to be a free day for anyone wearing New England Patriot's gear, but that will be pushed back a week — win or lose.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Roger Williams Park Zoo will be closed Sunday due to the extreme cold.
"Our priority is always the safety of guests, staff and our animals," according to a media release from the zoo.

Free admission was planned for Sunday for those wearing New England Patriot's gear to honor the team's appearance in the Super Bowl. The free day will be pushed back to Sunday, Feb. 15, regardless if the Patriots prevail over Seattle or not.

"Win or lose, we still want to celebrate our Pats!" the release said "So it is another chance to wear your Patriots gear one more time and get free admission at the Zoo next week."

Saturday's night's low temperature will be a frigid 2 degrees and will feel as low as 14 degrees below zero, with winds gusting up to 34 mph and an inch of snow falling, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Sunday will be sunny with a high near 18 degrees and winds gusting up to 30 mph, the National Weather Service predicts.
Sunday night will drop back down to 3 degrees with winds gusting as high as 23 mph.
