URI Women's Basketball Coach Reiss Named Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award Finalist

The Rams have won 12 straight in a row under Reiss and at 18-2 already have more wins than all of lost season.

KINGSTON, RI — University of Rhode Island women's basketball head coach Tammi Reiss was named to the midseason 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award watch list presented by Her Hoop Stats, according to the university.

"Reiss is one of three Atlantic 10 coaches selected among the 10 finalists," the school said in a post on its website.

"Earlier this season, Reiss became the all-time winningest head coach in program history after defeating George Washington on Jan. 7," the post said.

"She's now up to 128 career wins after the Rams defeated Dayton on the road last time out," according to the post. "Rhody is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 31 for a battle of the Rams at Fordham. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+."
