Rhode Island State Police Arrest 2 On Street Racing Charges

One man was arrested during a Lincoln traffic stop and the other at his Cumberland home, police said.

LINCOLN, RI — Two men were arrested on street racing charges early Sunday, police said.

Adam Gomez, 20, Whitinsville, Massachusetts, was arrested first during a traffic stop shortly after midnight Saturday on Route 146 in Lincoln, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Gomez was arrested on charges of street racing and reckless driving, according to the release.

Then, about 2 a.m., Alexander Nuay, 19, was arrested at his home on High Ridge Drive in Cumberland, the release said.

Nuay was also arrested on charges of street racing and reckless driving, per the release.

Gomez and Nuay were processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released with court dates, according to police.
