3 Wounded In Narragansett Town Beach Stabbing Spree

"Due to the chaos," additional disturbances broke out on the beach, police said.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Three were wounded in a Narragansett Town Beach stabbing spree Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The Narragansett police" received calls about numerous
people who had possibly been stabbed at the Narragansett Town Beach" shortly after 3 p.m., the department said in a media release.

Responding police and firefighters "located three victims all who had suffered minor stab wounds," the release said. "They were treated on scene and all three were transported t o local hospitals with minor injuries."

Two unidentified adults were arrested on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing justice, according to the release.

"These arrests do not appear to be related to the stabbings, the release said, as police have "no suspects at this time, and the case is still actively under investigation."

The Rhode Island State Police, South Kingstown Police, North Kingstown Police and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management assisted the Narragansett police in the aftermath of the stabbings, according to the release.

"Due to the chaos on scene with hundreds of people attempting to leave the beach at the same time,
several other small disturbances broke out," the release said.

The Narragansett police asked anyone with information on the incident to call the department's detective division at 401-789-1091, extension 305.
