2 Shot In Newport's Park Holm: Cops

NEWPORT, RI — Two were shot in Park Holm Sunday night, police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired near the corner of Truman Street and Rosedale Avenue and found two wounded, the Newport Police Department said in a media release.

The wounded, ages 22 and 25, were hospitalized, according to the release.

They were shot in their "lower extremities," the release said.

"Preliminary findings indicate this was a targeted, isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the
general public," according to the release.

"The investigation remains active and is being led by the Criminal Investigation Division," the release said.
