2 Arrested After Pawtucket Apartment Riddled With Bullets: Police

PAWTUCKET, RI — A man and woman were arrested after a Pawtucket apartment was riddled with bullets, police said.

Skyla Vaillant, 21, and Jose Lugo, 20, were charged with felony assault, firing in a compact area and conspiracy, the Pawtucket Police Department said in a media release.

Vaillant and Lugo were arrested Wednesday, the morning after nine shots were fired into a Prospect Heights apartment about 11:30 p.m., according to the release.

One of the bullets entered a child's bedroom and struck a headboard, the release said.

A license plate reading camera identified a vehicle at the scene of the shooting, according to the release.

The vehicle was located, stopped and seized by police Wednesday morning, and its occupants were detained, the release said.

"The investigation confirmed (Vaillant and Lugo's) involvement in the shooting," according to the release.
