Pawtucket Man Arrested on Gun Charges: Cops

The Pawtucket man was arrested by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.

PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket man wanted on gun charges was arrested, police said.

Jonathan Mercado, 27, was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with firing in a compact area, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and disorderly conduct, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Mercado was arrested by the state police Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to the release.

"Mr. Mercado was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Pawtucket Police Department on scene," the release said.
