Museum of Natural History and Planetarium

Children, ages 2-4 with parent or caregiver, will investigate the world around them as they sing, dance and discover in this monthly series! Takes place the first Friday of each month, October through June, at 10:00am. Each session will contain age-appropriate stories, songs, poems and a craft related to the topic. Expose your preschool child to science and culture in a unique and stimulating museum setting! Program Fee per session: Free with museum admission. Discover our dynamic planet, past and present! Enjoy activity tables and daily planetarium shows (ages 4 and older, $5) at 2pm. From the ground under your feet to the sky above, join us at Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park to explore the wonders of our incredible Earth. Museum admission is $2 | Free for Museum Members and children under age 4. Planetarium shows (includes Museum Admission) are $5 | Free for Museum Members. Children must be age 4 or older to attend the planetarium show. 
Daily Activities | Saturday, April 18 – Friday, April 24 10am–4pm | Earth Family Fun Explore a variety of family-friendly, hands-on activities highlighting our local and global ecosystems. Cost: Free with Museum admission. 
2pm | Our Place in Space Planetarium show There’s no place like home! Begin your journey on Earth and travel through our solar system and beyond. Explore the craters of Mercury, the storms of Neptune, and discover what makes Earth unique before venturing into nebulae and star clusters of the Milky Way galaxy. Show includes updated visuals! Audience: General (children must be age 4+) Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes museum admission) is $5/ Museum Members Free. IMPORTANT PLANETARIUM SHOW GUIDELINES: Tickets are recommended to be reserved online, including for Museum Members. Availability is limited. All sales are final. Everyone attending the planetarium show needs a ticket. Children must be age 4 or older; those 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be supervised at all times. Phones must be silenced, and attendees should remain quiet during the show to help everyone enjoy the full experience. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in, as doors close at showtime and will not reopen—no late entry is permitted for visitor safety once the show begins.

Please note:&nbsp;If you arrive late, the artist may not be able to fill you in on the steps you missed, as they will be focused on guiding the rest of the class. If you arrive&nbsp;more than 20 minutes late,&nbsp;we kindly ask that you do not join the session. Late arrivals can be disruptive and may not have enough time to complete the painting.
