World Migratory Bird Days at the Museum of Natural History

The birds are back in town! Join the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with a full weekend of fun, hands-on activities for all ages. Discover the incredible journeys of migratory birds and learn how you can help protect them and their habitats.

Weekend Activities | Saturday, May 9– Sunday, May 10
10am–4pm | Bird Family Fun
Follow the flock! Enjoy migratory bird–themed activities and hands-on experiences.
Cost: Free with Museum admission. 

2pm | Flight Adventures Fulldome Planetarium show
Discover the science of flight through the eyes of a young girl and her grandfather as they explore how birds, kites, planes and models fly. Learn about the history and future plans of flight and how NASA is discovering new and safer ways to travel with the help of future engineers and aviators – like YOU! The program is followed by a brief tour of the night sky using the planetarium’s Zeiss star projector.
Audience: General (children must be age 4+)
Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes museum admission) is $5/ Museum Members Free.
IMPORTANT PLANETARIUM SHOW GUIDELINES:
Tickets are recommended to be reserved online, including for Museum Members. Availability is limited. All sales are final.
Everyone attending the planetarium show needs a ticket.
Children must be age 4 or older; those 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be supervised at all times.
Phones must be silenced, and attendees should remain quiet during the show to help everyone enjoy the full experience.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in, as doors close at showtime and will not reopen—no late entry is permitted for visitor safety once the show begins.
