Museum of Natural History and Planetarium

Join the <a href="https://www.providenceri.gov/museum/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Museum of Natural History and Planetarium</a> for a walk around Roger Williams Park to learn more about the environment around us! We’ll search for signs of the different birds, mammals, plants and bugs in the city’s backyard. Binoculars are not required but encouraged for animal sightings. Walk meets at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium.  
Recommended for ages 4 and older – families encouraged! Pets are strollers are not permitted. Program fee per session: $3 per person/free for <a href="https://www.providenceri.gov/museum/membership/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Museum Members</a>. Pre-registration preferred.

Discover our dynamic planet, past and present! Enjoy activity tables and daily planetarium shows (ages 4 and older, $5) at 2pm. From the ground under your feet to the sky above, join us at Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park to explore the wonders of our incredible Earth. Museum admission is $2 | Free for Museum Members and children under age 4. Planetarium shows (includes Museum Admission) are $5 | Free for Museum Members. Children must be age 4 or older to attend the planetarium show. 
Daily Activities | Saturday, April 18 – Friday, April 24 10am–4pm | Earth Family Fun Explore a variety of family-friendly, hands-on activities highlighting our local and global ecosystems. Cost: Free with Museum admission. 
2pm | Our Place in Space Planetarium show There’s no place like home! Begin your journey on Earth and travel through our solar system and beyond. Explore the craters of Mercury, the storms of Neptune, and discover what makes Earth unique before venturing into nebulae and star clusters of the Milky Way galaxy. Show includes updated visuals! Audience: General (children must be age 4+) Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes museum admission) is $5/ Museum Members Free. IMPORTANT PLANETARIUM SHOW GUIDELINES: Tickets are recommended to be reserved online, including for Museum Members. Availability is limited. All sales are final. Everyone attending the planetarium show needs a ticket. Children must be age 4 or older; those 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be supervised at all times. Phones must be silenced, and attendees should remain quiet during the show to help everyone enjoy the full experience. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in, as doors close at showtime and will not reopen—no late entry is permitted for visitor safety once the show begins.
